Mining Operations
Production Operations
Anjin mining operations begun in 2009 focusing on exploration and mining of diamonds. The operations consist of extraction and processing diamonds in conglomerate and alluvial diamonds. The mine has a production capacity of approximately one million carats per annum of a combination of industrial and gem-quality diamonds. The extraction of run-off mine begins with stripping of the overburden waste to expose the ore. Initially, free-digging of waste overburden is done using excavators followed by drilling and blasting as mining goes deeper in hard competent rock mass. The exposed diamond in conglomerate ore is then loaded and hauled to the processing plant using dump trucks. At the processing plant, the run-off time undergoes size reduction, dense medium separation and picking before it is transported to the Sort House in Harare.
